OPTI Canada Inc. (OPTI) is engaged in developing heavy oil and integrated bitumen by using its next generation OrCrude process. The company is in a joint venture with Nexen to develop the Long Lake project (integrated oil sands project) in the Athabasca oil sands area of Alberta. The early result of the test recorded outflow of 72,000 barrels per day of steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) bitumen. OPTI operates in the Athabasca oil sands region primarily on three leases, namely, Long Lake, Leismer and Cottonwood. Currently the company retains a 35% working interest in projects. The company is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.
